Unlucky Days
Chapter 1: Yakubi’s First Day
Outside Yakubi High
School
7:54AM
Konata: “Yakubi High
School?!”
Tsukasa: “That’s…what it says…”
Kagami: “Why would someone name the school ‘Unlucky Day’?”
Miyuki: “Um…” -deep in thought- “Maybe the person who the school was named after
is ‘Yakubi’.”
Konata: -blink- “Who would be named ‘Yakubi’?”
Miyuki: “I think I might know a rich family by the name of ‘Yakubi’.”
Kagami: “Why did they want to open a school?”
A girl walks by the group
Miyuki: “Their daughter didn’t get into any good high school, so they opened one
of their own.”
Konata: “I think that’s her, you can tell by the clothes.”
Tsukasa: “Let’s say hi to her!”
Konata and Tsukasa run up to the girl
Konata: “Hiya, what’s your name?”
Girl: “Shinju…”
Tsukasa: “I’m Tsukasa, this is Konata.”
Konata: “We’re juniors this year.”
Shinju: “I’m just starting high school…this was a last resort for my family…”
Konata: “So you ar+e the girl who didn’t get into a high school.”
The bell rings
Shinju: “We have to get inside!” (runs inside)
Entrance Hall
8:04AM
Alice: “Pretty big
for a high school…” (looks around) “Maurice?! Mike?!” –shock- “I lost
them!”
Two boys come up behind her
Alice: “Don’t bother trying to scare me, Lorenzo, Lloyd…”
Lorenzo: “Hey there Aly!”
Alice: “Don’t call me that! You’re not allowed to call me that!”
Lloyd: “Why not Aly…?” (Alice begins twisting his arm) “Owowow!!! I’ll
stop! I’ll stop!”
Alice: (stops) “Just leave me the hell alone!” (runs off as the bell
rings)
Announcement: “All freshmen report to the cafeteria for class placement.”
Cafeteria
8:10AM
Announcement: “All
sophomores report to the cafeteria for class placement.”
Haruhi: “I’m already there.” (gets ready to go in)
Hitachiin Twins: “Haruhi!” (runs up to Haruhi) “Were you waiting for us?”
Haruhi: “No, I was just about to go in…”
Mikey and Hope bush past them to get in
Hikaru: “Hey! Didn’t you hear of the word, ‘excuse me’!?”
Hope: (turns around) “Sorry, my friend’s looking for his little sister.”
Mikey: “Mom’s gonna kill me!”
Haruhi: “Are you sophomores?”
Hope: “Yeah!”
Haruhi: (extends hand) “I’m Haruhi Fujioka, I’m a sophomore too.”
Hope: (accepts hand) “The name’s Hope Campbell, I hope we can be friends
Haruhi. Then my mom’ll be happy that I found a female friend my age.”
Hikaru: “You mean…”
Kaoru: “…you know…”
Hitachiin Twins: “Haruhi’s a girl?!”
Hope: -dry look- “Of course, ‘Haruhi’ isn’t a boy’s name.”
Cafeteria
8:20AM
Mikey: (sees
Alice) “Alice!” (hugs her) “I thought I lost you little sis!”
Alice: “Does it have to be like this every time Mikey?”
Mikey: “Yes.”
Hope: “Don’t strangle the girl.” (pulls Mikey off Alice)
Bosco, Faith and Ty arrive
Alice: “Maurice-niichan!”
Bosco: “Don’t run away again Aly.”
Alice: “Sorry.”
Ty: “Did you see what class you’re in yet?”
Hope: “We were waiting for you.”
They all open the envelopes
Alice: “Wow! I got into the ‘A’ class!”
Mikey: “Me too.” (looks at Alice’s results) “You got a higher score
though, what about you Hope?”
Hope: “I’m too excited…you go Bosco!”
Bosco: “’A’ class, cool, I’m in the same class as that Logan guy!”
Faith: “Logan guy?”
Bosco: “Yeah, the big guy that was talking to the hot blonde.”
Faith: “…okay…I got into the ‘A’ class too.”
Ty: “Damn, I just missed ‘A’.”
Hope: “So it’s my turn…” (looks at results) -horrified- “I got into
the…’D’ class!”
Mikey: “’D’?! But you’re really smart! How’d you get a low score?!” (takes
Hope’s results) “0?! It’s gotta be a grading error!”
Hope: “T…there’s nothing I can do…” –cries-
Hallways
8:27AM
Hikaru: “So milord,
you don’t mind that someone knows Haruhi’s secret?”
Kaoru: “She could tell other girls, then we would have to go back to Ouran.”
Honey: “But I like this school, Kona-chan’s funny!”
Mori: “…”
Tamaki: “Don’t worry Honey-senpai, this is all part of my plan. Once Haruhi
gets a female friend, she’ll be more aware of her feminine side and start
wearing girl’s clothing!”
Haruhi: -dry look- “I’m right here Senpai…”
Kyoya: “You’ll be in the same class as her, her score is ranked second to you.”
Tamaki: “Perfect! Haruhi, make friends with the girl when you get into class!”
Classroom 4-A
8:30AM
Gabe: “Lian, I don’t
see why we have to stay in the classroom a half hour before class starts.”
Lian: “I told you Gabe, you miss the rush. And there’s more time to study.”
Gabe: “Hey, why don’t we go downstairs to the cafeteria and meet up with Addison
and her friends?”
Lian: “I wouldn’t fit in with them…they’re all so…”
Teresa: (walks into the classroom) “Hey guys, I thought you’d be in
here.”
Lian: “Hey Teresa, what class did you get into?”
Teresa: “’B’ class, I see you two got into the ‘A’ class.”
Gabe: “Yeah, so did Addison.”
Teresa: “Why do you date her? All her friends are stuck-up snobs!”
Gabe: “I know they are.”
Teresa: “And that’s why you don’t hang out with her and her friends without
Lian?”
Gabe: “Nononono! …okay, that’s one of the reasons, but I don’t want to leave
Lian by herself.”
Lian: -blush- “Uh…what’s that?” (looks out the window)
Two freshmen girls walk by the classroom
Girl 1: “This isn’t it…we’re lost!”
Honey and Mori walk up to them
Girl 1: “Can you help us? We’re trying to find to find class 1-A.”
Honey: “I didn’t see where it was, did you Takashi?”
Mori: “It’s down the next stairs, on the second floor.”
Girl 1: “Thank you so much!” (sees Honey’s bunny) “I like your bunny,
it’s so cute.” (walks away and notices that her friend is going with her)
“Minami?”
Minami: “What’s your name Senpai?”
Honey: “I’m
Mitsukuni Haninozuka, but you call me ‘Honey’. And this is Takashi Morinozuka,
you can call him ‘Mori’!”
Minami: “Thank you, Honey-chan, Mori-senpai.” (walks away with her friend)
Honey: “But…I’m a senior too!”
Lian: “That little kid is a senior?”
Teresa: “He’s older than he looks, but he’s so cute!”
Arcade
8: 38AM
Bobby: “This school
has an arcade?!”
Matty: “Wow, a good place to waste money.”
Kim: “The school’s mostly for rich kids, did you see the price for Class ‘A’
uniforms?”
Matty: “Do we really gotta wear uniforms?”
Bobby: “Matty, you have to do everything in your power to stay in this school!
You barely made it in!”
Matty: “I know, I need to graduate!”
Kim: “If you wanna graduate, you have to keep your grades up.”
Bobby: “Kim’s right, you have to study everyday.”
Matty: “Hey Bobby, thanks for convincing mom to let me live with her again.”
Library, Second
Floor
8:44AM
Carlos: “Another
library?! Argh! I don’t understand this school at all!”
Girl: “Maybe you should calm down. You’ll find what you’re looking for.”
Carlos: “What?”
Girl: “You’d be surprised at what you’d accomplish.”
Carlos: “Who are you?”
Girl: “My name’s Holly, we went to the same Middle School last year.”
Carlos: “I switched schools last year.”
Holly: “Twain.”
Carlos: -in thought- “Now I remember, you’re Holly Levine, nature girl.”
Holly: “That’s a nicer way of putting then some people.”
Carlos: “Yeah, I thought the other kids were kinda mean, calling you a freak.”
Holly: “So Carlos, what class are you in?”
Carlos: “1-C, you?”
Holly: “1-B. Why’d you change schools so late in the year?”
Carlos: “I got taken out of a foster home.”
Holly: “Oh…”
Classroom 2-A
8:58AM
Hikaru: “So where’s
this Hope girl?”
Kaoru: “The late bell’s about to ring.”
Haruhi: “I see her friend, he’s moping for some reason.”
Kaoru: “What do you think that reason is?”
Hikaru: “I bet it’s nothing, he’s probably just a crybaby.”
Someone comes in, it’s a girl with short blonde hair
Newcomer: -pant- “Just in time, that’s the last time I let Jimmy give me
directions!”
Hikaru: “Who’s that?”
Haruhi: “Maybe…Alex Taylor?”
Kaoru: “You know her Haruhi?”
Haruhi: “We went to the same Elementary School together, it looks a lot like
her. Hey!”
Alex: “Me?”
Haruhi: “Yeah, do you recognize me?”
Alex: “Uh…no sorry.” (walks to seat)
Haruhi: “Oh well.”
The bell rings
Hikaru: “Hey, she’s not here.”
Kaoru: “When is she coming?”
Classroom 4-A
9:07AM
Lian: “I wonder
where the teacher is…”
Bosco: “Hey Faith.”
Faith: “What Bos?”
Bosco: “I’ll give you ten bucks if the teacher walks in before 9:25.”
Faith: -scoff- “Put your money where your mouth is.”
Bosco: (takes out a $10 bill) “What about you?”
Faith: (takes out a $20 bill) “I could use thirty bucks.”
Bosco: “Don’t get arrogant.”
Faith: “That is the most hypocritical thing I have heard you say.”
Bosco: “What? Me? Arrogant?”
Faith: “Yes, you’re arrogant ALL the time.”
Bosco: “Name one time Faith, just one time.”
Faith: “Let’s see…the fifth grade…”
Bosco: “Faith…”
Faith: “Oh, right, right, sorry. The ninth grade street hockey game.”
Bosco: “That doesn’t count!”
Faith: “Yes it does! You broke your arm…”
Bosco: “I didn’t break it!”
Faith: “You spent weeks in that cast!”
The teacher comes in
Teacher: “Hello, sorry I’m late. I’m your homeroom teacher, Annie Foster. I
teach science to sophomores. If you have any questions for your younger
siblings, please ask after I take attendance.” (sits down at desk)
Bosco and Faith exchange looks.
Hallways
9:30AM
Announcement:
“Students, please use the next hour to choose your classes.”
Tamaki: “What do you mean Hope isn’t in the class?!”
Hikaru: “When they took attendance…”
Kaoru: “…her name didn’t come up.”
Kyoya: “But according to her test results…unless…there was a placement error.”
Haruhi: “You mean the computer didn’t read her test score properly and she got
placed in the wrong class?”
Hitachiin Twins: “Yeah, that has to be what happened.”
Honey and Mori approach the group
Honey: “Aren’t you going to choose a class?”
Haruhi: “I was just going to.” (Walks away)
Tamaki: “But Haruhi! What about Hope?”
Gymnasium 1
9:36AM
Ty: “So why am I in line for Senior Basketball?”
Bosco: “I told you, we got a championship last winter.”
Ty: “So?”
Bosco: “You know that card we got?”
Ty: “That was for our old high school.”
Bosco: “Oh yeah…”
Ty and Bosco step off the line
Bosco: “So what now?”
Ty: “We could choose an actual class, instead of a sport.”
Bosco: “But it’s Phys Ed!”
Ty: “So? If we get Sports First, we’ll just turn into one of those jocks.”
Bosco: “Good point.”
Jimmy: (walks over to Bosco and Ty) “Look what the cat dragged in.”
Bosco: “What did the cat drag in Dorhety? You?”
Jimmy: “Haha, funny…NOT!”
Ty: “What are you doing here anyway?”
Jimmy: “I’m here to sign up for the tryouts for the school’s baseball team.”
Bosco: “Good for you.” (walks off)
Ty: “If you were trying to make a statement, you failed.” (walks off)
Science Lab 4
9:43AM
Lian is waiting in
line to signup for Senior Science, Honey and Mori, who have just finished
signing up approach her.
Honey:
“Hi there!”
Lian: “Hi.”
Honey: “Why are you so sad?”
Lian: “It’s nothing.”
Tamaki: (comes out of nowhere) “Nothing? Are you sure?”
Lian: -startle- “Who are you?”
Tamaki: “Tamaki Suoh, King of the Ouran Host Club.”
Lian: “What is the Ouran Host…?” (notices that she’s next in line)
“Excuse me.” (signs up and gets off line) “What is the ‘Ouran Host
Club’?”
Tamaki: “It’s a club that serves to bring good fortune to women.”
Lian: “Sorry, I don’t need any ‘good fortune’.”
Tamaki: “Huh? Why?”
Lian: “I have everything I want.” (walks off)
Tamaki: “Who is she anyway?”
Mori: “Lian Xing.”
Tamaki: “Maybe Kyoya can help us bring good fortune to that young woman.”
Cafeteria
12:31PM
Bobby: (is
looking at Kim’s test results) “Kim according to this, you got into the ‘A’
class.”
Kim: “I asked about that and they said that the class was too full. It’s okay,
at least I’m in the same class as you.”
Jimmy: “What about me? I’m in your class.”
Kim: “Uhh…”
Alex: “Do you guys know a Haruhi Fujioka?”
Kim: “Nope, why?”
Alex: “He asked if I recognized him.”
Jimmy: “Fujioka…”
Bobby: “You know him Jimmy?”
Jimmy: “That’s the last name…of someone in a tranny bar.”
Kim: “Uh…how do you know that?”
Jimmy: “…It’s just something I heard…I don’t remember where.”
Classroom 1-A
1:18PM
The entire class is
filling out information cards.
Alice: “I hate this stuff! Why aren’t there records that have all that
information?!”
Mai: “I don’t know.”
Alice: “This is a waste of time!!!”
Mai: “Okay, I get it, you hate doing this.”
Alice: “THE SCHOOL SYSTEM IS A BITCH!!!”
Mai: “Aly…”
Alice: “What?” (She sees that her homeroom teacher is looking down at her)
“Uh…hi there.”
Classroom 4-A
1:22PM
The entire class is
filling out information cards.
Bosco: “Done.”
Faith: “You see Bos? With just a little effort, you can actually do your own
paperwork?”
Bosco: “At least this is that last time.”
Faith: “What about college?”
Bosco: “What about college? It’s not like I’m going.”
Faith: “So…what are you gonna do when you get out of High School?”
Bosco: “Join the Army Rangers.”
Faith: “Really? Then what?”
Bosco: “I dunno, I
didn’t really think about it.”
Faith: “Go to college?”
Bosco: “No, I need a job.”
Faith: “Bosco, you could go to college and get a high-paying job.”
Bosco: “High-paying, huh?”
School Yard
2:47PM
Alice
is leaving school with Mai.
Alice:
“Mr. N is so mean! He called my mom just because I said that the school system
was a bitch! Which it is!”
Mai: “So where are you heading?”
Alice: “I need to wait for my brothers, they’re taking me home.”
Mai: “Why do you need them to take you home?”
Alice: “My mom said so, and I’d better wait if I wanna play video games for the
next two weeks.”
Mai: “Okay, see you later Aly.”
Mai left as Alice heard some crying coming from the inside of the school.
Hope came out with Mikey, crying.
Alice: “Hope, what’s wrong?”
Mikey: “They screwed up her class!”
Alice: “What?”
Mikey: “They put her in the ‘D’ class.”
Alice: “That’s not fair! You gotta fight it Hope! You gotta…!”
Someone approaches them.
Person: “Hello Campbell, what class did you get into?”
Mikey: “Rowland.”
Hope: “You did this Axel!”
Axel: “And what proof do you have?”
Alice: “We don’t need proof to know you did it!”
Axel: “And what do you plan to do?”
The Host Club exits the school.
Tamaki: (approaches Hope) “Did something happen to this beautiful woman?”
Mikey: “Yeah! This guy got her landed in the ‘D’ class!”
Alice: “His name is Alexander Rowland!”
Kyoya: “Rowland? I don’t need to look that up. You got the Yakubi family to
place Miss Campbell in the ‘D’ class.”
Axel: “And your proof…?”
Kyoya: “Your family’s connection to the Yakubi family.”
Axel: “That’s right! You can’t change the records even if you have physical
proof! You’re stuck in the class Campbell.”
Mikey: “I’ll make you pay!” (grabs Axel’s shirt by the collar)
Bosco, Faith and Ty exit the building and sees what’s happening.
Bosco: “Mikey! No!”
Mikey: “But Mo! He put Hope…”
Bosco: “Mike, you can’t afford to get into a fight.”
Faith: “He’s right, let him go.”
Mikey: (lets go) “You are one lucky son of a bitch.”
Axel: “Luck is for poor people!”
Alice: “You get out of here before I shove my foot down your throat! And trust
me, no one’ll hold me back.”
Axel: “I hope I won’t be seeing you poor people later.” (walks away)
Haruhi: “So Hope, you got put into the ‘D’ class?”
Hope: “Yeah.”
Ty: “You can get into the ‘A’ class, you’re smart!”
Bosco: “Yeah, put that jag-off in his place!”
Hope: “Alright, I’ll get into the ‘A’ class! I’ll show that loser just what I’m
capable of!”
Next Time:
Konata: “In the next chapter of ‘Unlucky Days,’ me and Alice meet Renge, an otaku that makes the two of us look like causal gamers! And Ty’s ex-girlfriend appears and haunts him! And to top it all off, the Host Club is getting closer to Lian! I can’t wait to see what happens next!”
